Is your Milk Raw?
Believe it or not we do get this one a lot. Yes, it is raw and also 100% grass fed.

We provide all containers, they are included in the club fee. Please bring a cooler, bag, ice, etc.

Can I stop by the store and buy food anytime?

No! we are a private farm coop that takes orders for food and brings it from the farm to you.
The Wheaton location is our private residence.

All ordering in done online.

Place your order online and pay at your pick up location

Our beef is 100% grass fed start to finish. No grain ever. The beef will be frozen when you pick up your order.

You must be a member of our private club to order anything.

Currently the only way to become a member is to pay in person

You must pay for a membership to our private farm co-op to order anything from us.

We do not stock extra of most items except for Beef, so please don't stop by expecting to find a fully stocked store.

If you miss your pick up time there are no refunds for your order. No refunds. No exceptions. We don't like to see the food go to waste so please if you order pick up and enjoy your product.

If you have a genuine emergency, please call or email us and we will try to accommodate you to re-schedule the pick up of your products. Thanks

DAIRY

Bring ice and a cooler to all pick ups we are not responsible for dairy going bad because it was not kept cold

Dairy last approximately two weeks if kept cold. For best results keep our fridge turned close to freezing.

All glass dairy is Jersey milk. Dr. Mercola’s article on raw milk states that Jersey qualifies as A2.

The cows, goats, and sheep are milked within three days of delivery to you.

All other cow dairy in plastic is a mixture of holsteing and dutch belted cross.

We are in the process of changing the hurd for this milk to be 100% Jersey

We do not test our cows for bacteria count.

All cows are 100% grass fed. We never feed our cows grain of any kind.

We never use harmful chemicals, petsticides, Hormones, harmful fertilizer, etc. in our grass.

The cows are 100% pastered 365 days a year

The sheep and goats are 100% pasture raised and fed grass. They are also suplimented with a natural orgainc feed mix.

CHICKEN

The chickens are 100% pasture raised

The chickens are rotationally graised behind the cows.

The chickens diet also consists of a natural organic feed mix.

BEEF

Our beef is recently processed and frozen for pick up.

The breed of cow we use are Black Angus, Red Angus, Scottish Hylander, limusine, and herfurd.

The animals are processed within 5 miles of where they are raised. This keeps animal stress to a minimum.

Grass fed benefits

We are often asked about why MooGrass farms is so passionate about our foods being grass fed. I will share a story that I hope to have a farmer share on video in the near future. There was a 50 foot pile of corn in the middle of the neighbors farm. The corn had been out for a month or more, wet, moldy, etc. The ironic thing was this "feed" was going to be eaten by organically raised cows and sold as organic beef, cheese, etc.. Our foods are all 100% grass fed. Although we are not organically certified, we think we are smarter and better then a "label" farmers are asked to pay for. See the link above for more information.

New To MooGrass Farms Please read

Please read our entire website home page before leaving us voice mails. We try to answer your calls but prefer email if you can't find the answer to your question on our site.
You must be a member or our coop to purchase dairy products. The membership is good for one year starting January 1st. annually. The pick up dates and time are listed on the home page. Order deadlines are every other Sunday at midnight. Pick up times are every other Thursday between 4-7 p.m. Browse our products and purchase through our secure server hosted by paypal. You don't have to use a paypal account you can use any major credit card. MOST IMPORTANT. Once you have added items to your cart and proceed to check out you will be directed to paypal's site. When you have completed your order you must click the link taking you back to our main page. This allows paypal to tell us that you paid and the details of your order. If you don't confirm back to our site we will not see what you ordered and your order will not be filled. We do this to use the most secure credit card processing available.
The farms we get our foods from our located in Southern and Central Illinois. We are passionate about the quality of the food we bring home to our families and yours. Beef Orders

When ordering beef by the pound please bring cash to the pick up. Our processors try to keep cuts as close to the pound as possible, but sometimes go over. For example, if you order a pound of round roast and we only have two pound cuts, we will need cash to cover the larger order.

Sheep, Goats, and much much more

Our relationships with the farmers is improving and they are listening to our requests for more wonderful grass fed food. Sheep and cow milk is now available. Seasonal produce will also be available.
If you can't find a certain product you have seen on our site before, it is probably because it is sold out. The farmers can produce only so much. Don't worry though, it will probably appear for the next order cycle.
Youtube should have a link to the channel 5 segment done on Moograss farms. Just to warn you it is one sided and they took over an hour of footage and condensed it down to about a minute.
It was fun to do and we hope more people become educated to the benefits of quality grass fed foods.

Order Process and Updates

We tend to get the same questions asked again and again, so we thought we'd try to communicate through a blog that is constantly updated.

A quick note on ordering. When you finalize your payment through the Paypal gateway go back to our site to confirm your order. This does two things, it helps you know exactly what you ordered and it enables our system to double check your order as it is processed.
Another note on ordering. Yes you can use any major credit card for ordering. It will say only payment method available is Paypal, but if you continue you can use your credit card. Paypal is our payment gateway and they like you to use them, but you do have a choice.
We use Paypals gateway because they have the best security available.
